Q.What Is Epiticon® Threads?
A. Epiticon® Threads are patented, dissolvable threads developed by our head surgeon, Dr. Jung Young Choon. These advanced threads feature a unique double-lock design, ensuring enhanced security and stability during the lifting process. Specifically designed for superior lifting effects, they are highly effective in areas with heavier tissue, offering exceptional strength, tensile force, and fixation. Their innovative structure enables noticeable facial lifting with fewer threads, delivering natural and long-lasting results. This cutting-edge solution is ideal for non-surgical facial rejuvenation, providing impressive results with minimal downtime.
Q.What Areas Are Treated With The Thread Lift Procedure?
A. We target skin sagging and wrinkles on the forehead with Epiticon® threads. These threads can anchor firm tissues, such as the temporal fascia, or reposition tissues from sagging areas to areas with insufficient volume. Thanks to the multi-unit structure of the threads, which are inserted into the SMAS layer of the forehead, we can provide customized lifting treatments to address various concerns, such as forehead sagging and wrinkles. This approach ensures a more youthful, rejuvenated forehead with natural, long-lasting results.
Q.How Long Does It Take To See The Effects Of The Lifting?
A. The thread lift procedure is performed along the contours of each area, allowing us to adjust the position of facial tissues as needed. This enables us to improve most sagging tissues and wrinkles. However, since aging symptoms have complex causes, additional procedures, such as autologous fat grafting or facial liposuction, may be more effective when combined to enhance overall anti-aging results.
Q.How Many Threads Are Used During The Procedure?
A. The number of threads used is determined based on the diagnosis. For a full face lift, we generally use more than 20 to 30 threads. However, using more threads doesn’t necessarily guarantee better results. Too many threads may cause pain and discomfort. Therefore, at HERSHE, we use Epiticon® threads with a multi-unit structure, which is advantageous for pulling and fixation, ensuring an efficient lifting procedure.
Q.How Long Do The Results Last?
A. The Epiticon® thread lift procedure has both semi-permanent and dissolvable characteristics. The dissolvable threads usually dissolve within 1 to 1.5 years. The longevity of the effect can be extended with proper self-care after the procedure. Additionally, combining the lifting procedure with other anti-aging treatments, such as autologous fat grafting or facial liposuction, can help maintain the anti-aging effects for a longer period.
Q.Will There Be Noticeable Scars?
A. The procedure involves minimal incisions, and the insertion points for the threads may leave needle marks on the treated areas. These marks will fade over time and become less noticeable. However, if scarring remains a concern, laser treatments or other scar management programs can be helpful.
Q.What Precautions Should Be Taken After The Surgery?
A. Prior to the surgery, the clinic will provide you with explanations, consent forms, and pre-surgery instructions. After the surgery, the clinic will provide post-surgery instructions as well as prescribed medication. Some important post-surgery instructions include abstaining from alcohol and smoking for about a month to prevent bleeding and infection. It's essential to avoid getting water on the surgical site. Additionally, refrain from chewing hard or tough foods or opening the mouth widely until fully recovered, as this can cause discomfort. After the surgery, there may be minor bleeding or hematoma formation within 1 to 3 days. Applying light pressure with clean gauze or tissue for about 3 minutes can help stop the bleeding. It's also advised to avoid positions where the head is bent forward for extended periods and to sleep with the head elevated above the heart for at least 3 to 5 days.
